WASH AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS

At Suti India Sarees, every saree is a celebration of India's rich textile heritage. Our sarees are handcrafted using traditional weaving, printing, and dyeing techniques by skilled artisans. As each piece is handmade, slight variations are natural and make every saree uniquely beautiful.

Caring for Your Suti India Saree

Step One

1. Wash Separately

Always wash your saree separately from other garments, especially during the first few washes. Handcrafted and naturally dyed fabrics may release excess color initially.

Do: Sort dark and light-colored garments separately.

Don't: Wash with other clothes that may absorb or transfer color.

Step Two

2. Hand Wash in Cold Water (Room Temprature)

Gently hand wash your saree in cold water to preserve its color, texture, and craftsmanship.

Do: Use clean cold water for washing.

Don't: Use hot or warm water, as it may affect the fabric and dyes.

Step Three

3. Use Mild Detergent

Choose a mild liquid detergent suitable for delicate fabrics and handcrafted textiles.

Do: Use a small amount of gentle detergent.

Don't: Use harsh detergents, stain removers, or strong cleaning agents.

Step Four

4.  Do Not Soak For Long or Bleach

Avoid prolonged soaking and never use bleach or whitening agents.

Do: Wash promptly and gently.

Don't: Leave the saree soaking in water or use bleach-based products.

Step Five

5. Rinse Gently

Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove detergent residue while handling the fabric carefully.

Do: Support the fabric with both hands while rinsing.

Don't: Rub, scrub, wring, or twist the saree aggressively.

Step Six

6. Dry in Shade

Dry your saree in a shaded and well-ventilated area to help preserve its colors.

Do: Hang or lay flat in indirect sunlight.

Don't: Dry under direct sunlight for extended periods.

Step Seven

7. Iron on Low Heat

Iron on low to medium heat, preferably from the reverse side.

Do: Test the heat setting on a small area if unsure.

Don't: Use high heat directly on prints, motifs, or delicate fabrics.

Step Eight

8. Store with Care

Store your saree neatly folded in a cool, dry place away from moisture.

Do: Wrap in a cotton or muslin cloth for long-term storage.

Don't: Store in plastic bags, damp areas, or direct sunlight.
